Florida Georgia Line may be A-list country stars now, but before they were a successful onstage duo, they played sports. Because of their combined love of sports and music, they've been asked to perform at the inaugural Kids' Choice Sports Awards in July -- and they're very excited!

"Both of us grew up playing sports and to be a part of celebrating kids' favorite players is awesome!" Tyler Hubbard tells US Weekly.

He isn't the only one in the duo excited about the opportunity ... Brian Kelley, an ex-baseball player and the other half of FGL, says sports meant a lot to him growing up.

"I played baseball up through college, and my coaches, teammates and pro-players were some of the most-influential role models in my life," Kelley explains. No wonder he's thrilled to be a part of the evening.

The FGL guys are so excited, they said they're both "pumped" about performing. 'Live!' co-host Michael Strahan is hosting the first-ever awards show, and some big name athletes are slated to appear. Kevin Durant, NBA player for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney and Super Bowl XLVIII champ and Seattle Seahawk running back Marshawn Lynch will all appear.

The inaugural Kids Choice Sports Awards will air live on Nickelodeon on Thursday, July 17 at 8PM ET.
