Flooded Corn Fields

Thursday I went to Mankato and took these pictures of a corn field. Notice how nice the corn looks that is not under water. Before this week the whole field looked that way. It is too late to replant corn so the only option for this farmer would be to replant beans in the drowned out areas. However that may not be an option depending on which herbicides were used on the corn. If beans cannot be planted that leaves a cover crop or nothing will be grown in those areas this year. It is pretty discouraging!
