The Faribault Flames defeated the Maxbats of Minneapolis in a seeding game during State Tournament action at Bell Field Saturday night.  Jay Herman held down a potent lineup allowing just one earned run in the contest.  Herman went the distance and fanned 5 while walking 3 and hitting 2 batters.  His record is now 2-4 with an ERA around 2.  Faribault also played some very good defense.  The Flames scored two runs in 4th inning.  Dusty Dienst led off the inning with a single, then there was an error on a bunt attempt by Kyle Green followed by back to back RBI singles from Ross Spicer and Chris Howell.  Faribault's final run in the 5th inning scored on an error when the catcher overthrew a toss back to the pitcher and Chris Reuvers scampered home from third.  Reuvers led off the inning with a single, stole second and went to third on a sacrifice by Scott Hanson.  Faribault tallied 7 hits in the game with Chris Howell collecting two.  The Flames Play at 2:30 Sunday afternoon.  The Faribault Lakers play at noon and if they win their game with St. Patrick the Flames game will be at Bell Field.  If the Lakers lose they turn around and play another game with the Irish and then the Flames game would be in Morristown.
