Flames Honor Our Veterans Game on Saturday

Power 96 will be broadcasting the Faribault Flames 35 and over team's Honor Our Veterans game Saturday night at Bell Field.

For the second consecutive year the opponent will be Northfield.  There is no admission to the game and refreshments will be available including cold beer on what forecasters say will be a hot day.  Sit in the grandstand and you'll be out of the sun.

We would really love to see a lot of veterans at the game.  Traditionally during the game veterans from each branch of the military are honored.  There is always a terrific opening ceremony.  The Color Guard will march the flags onto the diamond and there is usually some terrific singer leading us in the National Anthem.

Bring along your radios and see if I'm watching the same game.  The Flames have played the Honor Our Veterans game every year they've played.  By the way the State Tournament is also back in Faribault this year.

I'd recommend getting there by about 6:30 p.m. because you don't want to miss the opening ceremony.  First pitch is scheduled for 7 and our coverage on POWER 96 begins approximately 6:45.
