Rice County Fair Executive Secretary John Dvorak stops by KDHL to visit with Jerry Groskreutz about the final preparations for next week's fair.

We've visited with John for several weeks now and it's nearly time for the fun to begin.  A couple weeks ago John told us about the new foods at this year's fair.  What do you think your favorite will be ?

Deep Fried Cupcakes, Uncle B's Last Chance BBQ, Fried Veggies, Frybread Dessert, Taco and Pizza, Gluten Free Cheese Curds and Mushrooms, Grilled Cheese Panini, Ice Cream Panini, Pulled Chicken, S'more Pops or Sweet Potato Fries.

You can be a food warrior and join Jerry in trying each one of them.

Speaking of Jerry I know where to find him when he's not on the air from the fair next week.  In the children's barnyard will be the Ag Cab Lab.  The hands-on learning center is in an actual farm cab that simulates driving experiences on the farm.  You've all heard of flight simulators and this is the same thing except a tractor instead of a plane.  Kids of all ages will love it.

Your spot on the radio dial for anything fair next week is The Mighty 920 KDHL.  We'll be broadcasting the queen coronation opening night Tuesday, farm family of the year event Wednesday and senior program Thursday and scores of reports in between.

Tune in Tuesday 9:30 a.m. for Fair Talk and get an overview of the fair from John and Jerry.
