The Minnesota Basketball News provides state rankings for the Associated Press and their final poll for the 2016-17 season is finished.

The Big Nine Conference finished with four rated teams, three of them in Class AAA.

No. 4 Winona is heading to this week's state tournament and defeated No. 7 Northfield to get there. Red Wing was No. 17.

In Class AAAA, Rochester Mayo was ranked No. 17 and was beaten by No. 3 Lakeville North in the section title game last week.

The Hiawatha Valley League finished with four rated teams in three separate classes.

Kasson-Mantorville was No. 9 in Class AAA and lost in the section semifinals. Class AA No. 9 Hayfield was upended by No. 17 Rochester Lourdes in the section semifinals and the Eagles went on to win the section and will play in the state tournament this week. No. 2 Class A Goodhue is also heading to state this week and opens in the tournament Thursday.
