Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 11, 2016. That is the date of the annual Farmer Appreciation Day. For many years Roger at Culver's in Owatonna hosted the Farmer Appreciation Breakfast. It was always a weekday morning in June. As long as June was Dairy Month, we also saluted the dairy industry and had the Dairy Princess there, too. While we are still sponsoring the Farmer Appreciation Breakfast, it will be bigger and better this year -- a whole day. There are all kinds of new activities and events planned for the whole family.

The annual Farmer Appreciation Day will be at the Rice County Fairgrounds in Faribault this year from 8AM to noon. The morning will start with a free breakfast, but we have many more activities planned. There will be exhibitors and booths set up, activities and games for the children, maybe animals, and machinery and equipment. It will be fun and educational for the whole family. Hopefully, by moving the Farmer Appreciation Day to a weekend more families can come. Plus, being at the Rice County Fairgrounds we have a lot more room for special activities and displays.
