Thursday the Faribault Chamber of Commerce Agri-Business Committee hosted the annual Farm Business Luncheon. The event was held again this year at the KC Hall in Faribault. A family-style turkey dinner was served. I call it practice for Thanksgiving! Part of the program is done by members of the Randolph FFA. It was a test of your agriculture knowledge. I had to go back to the studio for the noon time market report so I did not see the little quiz or the answers. So, Tamara decided see how much Jerry the farmer knows about agriculture. Check out the video below!

The guest speaker was Jim Nelson with Cargill Ag Marketing Services. Nelson briefly outlined all the different business that Cargill was involved in, most related to food but not all. What is unusual about Cargill is that it is not a public company. Almost all large companies are public. Cargill is an international company doing business on every continent. The one fact that really caught my attention was that Cargill provides 140,000 jobs! That is a lot of jobs and economic activity provided by one company.
