This morning I headed down to the annual Farm Broadcasters Convention in Kansas City. It is always a fun event, even though I stay in a hotel way too nice for me and eat food that I have never heard of or can't pronounce what it is called! I can identify if it is beef, pork, or chicken though. When I got to southern Iowa and northern Missouri I was surprised at the fields of corn and soybeans waiting to be harvested. I do know that their harvest window is much larger than ours. Even if it does snow down here in November it melts quickly.

One of the highlights for me is the Trade Talk that is held on Thursday. A large room is set up with booths staffed by chemical and seed companies, farm groups, commodity groups, equipment companies, and other business that deal with farmers. Many times product launches and introduction announcements are done here at the Farm Broadcasters Convention. In the picture is the bridge on Interstate 35 in Kansas City that was built a couple of years ago.
