Early this morning I will head south on Interstate 35 to Kansas City for the National Association of Farm Broadcasters Annual (NAFB) Convention. Every since the organization was founded the Convention has been held at this time of year in Kansas City. With Farm Broadcasters all across the United States Kansas City is conveniently located in the center of the country. Plus it is nice to go to Kansas City with it's rich agricultural history.

I am already aware of a couple news conferences scheduled for this afternoon. The opening reception is this evening. My favorite part of the convention is Trade Talks Thursday morning. There is a big convention hall with booths set up. Farm Broadcasters can stop by and interview farm groups, commodity organizations, seed and chemical companies, equipment manufacturers, and all types of agribusiness. My least favorite part of the convention, the mandatory NAFB meetings Thursday afternoon! I know they are important but they tend to get a little long!
