Today I drove down to Kansas City for the Farm Broadcasters Convention. I did drive through a little light rain but as I got closer to Kansas City it was clear blue skies. It was very warm here and windy. I did see on the radar that the rain arrived in Minnesota as forecasted. Here we are in a tornado and severe thunderstorm watch. As I drove through Southern Iowa and into Missouri, I was surprised at the corn and bean fields yet to be harvested along Interstate 35.

It sure it is nice to see other farm broadcasters and get away for a while (as long as my crop is harvested), but the highlight for me is Trade Talk. This is where farm groups and commodity organizations along with  agribusiness set up booths in a big ballroom. We have the opportunity to stop by and talk with them about what is going on with their group. This is a picture of Trade Talk set-up this afternoon.
