The Section 1AAA seeds were determined Sunday and the Faribault Falcons are the No. 2 seed with the Big Nine champion Owatonna Huskies the top seed in the tournament.

Thursday in the quarterfinal round the Falcons (15-6) will host the Austin Packers (10-10). The wrestling starts at 7PM in Nomeland Gym.

The Owatonna Huskies will watch No. 8 Rochester John Marshall wrestle No. 9 Rochester Century beginning at 5PM. The winner of that match faces Owatonna at 6PM, according to the bracket.

No. 5 Northfield (15-6) is at No. 4 Farmington (10-15) at 7PM. No. 3 Rochester Mayo (11-9) hosts Lakeville South (6-10) at 7PM.

The semifinals are at 3PM Saturday at the Rochester Mayo Civic Center. The defending section champion is Farmington.

In Section 1AA, unbeaten Kasson-Mantorville is the top seed and wrestles the winner of the No. 8 Cannon Falls (3-12) and No. 9 La Crescent (3-9) match. The Bombers and Lancers wrestle in Kasson at 6PM and the winner goes up against the defending state champion and top-ranked Komets.

Albert Lea (24-8) is the second seed and hosts No. 7 Winona (6-14) at 7PM. No. 3 Plainview-Elgin-Millville (14-2) entertains No. 6 Lewiston-Altura (8-12) at 7PM. No. 4 Byron (11-6) sees No. 5 Stewartville (10-15) come to the Bears Den.

The semifinals are at 11AM Saturday at the Rochester Mayo Civic Center.

In Section 1A, section competition the top seed is Zumbrota-Mazeppa (20-6) and they wrestle the winner between No. 8 Grand Meadow (4-4) and No. 9 Lake City (9-8) in Mazeppa at 7PM. The eight and nine seeds wrestle at 6PM.

No. 2 seed Goodhue (22-5) will watch No. 7 St. Charles (11-8) go up against No. 10 Pine Island (7-11) in Goodhue at 6PM. The winner then wrestles Goodhue at 7PM.

No. 3 Wabasha-Kellogg (11-4) waits for No. 6 Caledonia (7-14) to tangle with No. 11 Triton (5-17) at 6PM in Wabasha and wrestles the winner at 7PM. No. 4 Chatfield (7-5) will wrestle the winner of No. 5 Dover-Eyota (11-10) and No. 12 Fillmore Central (0-15) in Chatfield. Same times listed on the bracket.

Section 2 seeds are announced on Monday.

Defending state champion Kenyon-Wanamingo is a lock for the top seed and will host a team Thursday, with the winner advancing to United South Central High School on Saturday.
