Faribault Police Chief Andy Bohlen will be stopping by the KDHL studio today for a visit during this National Police Week.

Sunday was National Police Memorial Day, and Bohlen told me he will provide some details about three Faribault police officers who died in the line of duty. I believe he said all of them were killed many years ago.

Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn joined us during the 8:05 Report Monday morning and informed listeners that he and a couple of deputies from the Rice County Sheriff's Office took a turn standing guard at the Law Enforcement Memorial on the grounds of the State Capitol in St. Paul.

A special ceremony was held to observe the fact that 20 years ago on May 3, Rice County Sheriff's Deputy John Liebenstein lost his life during a pursuit on I-35 not far from his home along County Road 1.

Bohlen told me he was involved in that pursuit as a police officer serving the Lakeville community.

If you have any questions for the chief, please text them to (507) 838-5233.

If you can't tune in at 9:30AM, go to our YouTube channel and watch the program.
