Faribault Police Chief Andy Bohlen issued a news release Wednesday asking for the public's assistance in the case against a former city parks and recreation department employee.

Jake Hanson, 24, of Faribault has been charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct against a juvenile victim. The counts range from first-degree criminal sexual conduct to two additional second-degree criminal sexual conduct charges. The news release states that although Hanson was a seasonal employee of the city from 2005-14, the criminal complaint alleges the criminal contact with the juvenile was initiated in 2003. Hanson has denied criminal activity against any other individuals.

Bohlen states in the release, "The suspect and juvenile victim appeared to have a long-term interaction. In addition, through the course of the investigation, no additional victims have been identified." If anyone has any information about Hanson's criminal behavior that could assist law enforcement officials with this matter, please contact Faribault Detective Scott Duncan at (507) 334-0928.

Hanson was named the head girls basketball coach for Bethlehem Academy last season and was replaced before the start of this season.
