The section seeds came out Saturday, and the Faribault Falcons will travel to Mankato East while the Bethlehem Academy Cardinals get to host St. Clair on Wednesday.

KDHL 920 AM will have the Cardinal rematch with a team they just played last Thursday and defeated 41-14 at their place.

Power 96 95.9 FM will broadcast the Falcon game at Mankato East. Faribault fell to the Cougars at Bruce Smith Field on September 12, 38-18.

The game was moved to Saturday after the accident that seriously injured four football players returning home from attending a Falcon volleyball match in Rochester.

Head coach Ned Louis told KDHL on the Faribault Coaches Show from Bashers on Saturday his players understandably had their teammates on their mind that day and he believes they can compete with Mankato East.

Cardinal head coach Scott Hanson told KDHL on the program from Bashers that his team has a chip on their shoulder because they believed they should be the top seed and not No. 2.

New Ulm Cathedral received the top seed thanks to the QRF formula used to determine seeds in most sections in the state. Both teams are 7-1.

The New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds opened their season with a 25-13 loss to the Adrian Dragons and Adrian finished the season 5-3. One of their losses came to unbeaten Minneota.

Bethlehem Academy's only loss was to 7-1 Kenyon-Wanamingo, who lost to Goodhue in their season opener. Goodhue finished 5-3. The point differential was less than a full point 48.4 to 47.8.

Faribault is the No. 5 seed in their six team Section 2 Class AAAA. Top two seeds Marshall (7-1) and Waseca  (7-1) receive byes. Third seed Hutchinson (5-3) will host New Ulm (0-8) in the other section contest Wednesday.
