Faribault Mayor Kevin Voracek stops by the KDHL Studio for today's AM Minnesota program.

It's our annual year-end visit with the Mayor.

Traditionally we've had the Mayor stop by on the last day of the year but obviously that doesn't work this year.

I don't recall when I started doing this on our AM Minnesota program but it has been a popular feature.

I get comments all the time from people who enjoy hearing from the city's top elected official.

2017 began with a different City Administrator.

January 15, 2018 twenty year Faribault employee, current City Engineer Tim Murray will become the City Administrator.

Ground was broken and construction has started on the Faribault Area Senior Center (FASC).

FASC Executive Director Mona Kaiser was a guest on last Friday's AM Minnesota program and said they hope to have the addition ready for occupancy next fall.

We will ask the Mayor about the prospects for a new water treatment facility.

I'll also inquire about more flood preperations in the city.  Yes, flood preperations.  We've had a few flooding events over the past several years, seemingly on an every other year basis.

I hope you can tune in 9:30 a.m.

If that time doesn't work we will videotape the show and upload to our YouTube channel for your access anytime.
