The Webster Sox picked up a Father's Day 4-1 win over the Faribault Lakers in the heat in Webster.  The Lakers defeated Stewartville-Racine 1-0 on Friday at Bell Field.  In the 1-0 win three Faribault pitchers combined to hold the Sharks to 4 hits while the Lakers collected 8 hits on a soggy night.  Veteran Lakers Ryan Archambault and Mike Carpentier were the only Faribault batters with multiple hits and they accounted for the lone run in the game in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Porter Sartor started the game on the hill for the Lakers, allowing 2 hits over six innings while fanning 6 and walking 2.  Derek Ritter tossed two innings of 1 hit ball and Joe Grote sealed the win with a scoreless ninth.  Left handed pitcher Dayton Danielson went the distance for the Sharks scattering 8 hits, struck out 6 and walked 1 batter.  Danielson is a St. Charles graduate.  Danielson threw 86 pitches over 8 innings with 66 strikes.

Stewartville-Racine center fielder Jade Boettcher of Rochester had 3 of the team hits in the game.  Boettcher collected a stolen base and was thrown out trying to steal by Dylan O'Niel.

Archambault, Carpentier and Austin Rendler each had doubles in the win.  Sartor, O'Neil and Stocker had the other hits for Faribault.

In the Sunday loss at Webster Matt Lane was pitching and allowed 2 earned runs while working seven innings.  Lane struck out 12 and walked no batters while giving up 8 hits.  Tyler Francis pitched the last inning for the Lakers.

Webster took a 2-0 lead in the fifth inning and Faribault scored in the seventh.  The Sox then added two runs in the bottom of the seventh.  The Lakers had their chances to tie or take the lead in the seventh when their at bats started with a Sartor double to left field.  Blake Langerud executed a bunt single and Sartor went to third.  Following a strike out Carpentier hit into a fielder's choice with Langerud retired at second and Sartor scoring.  Carpentier was at first base with two outs.  Adam Kline singled to center placing runners at first and second base.  Jack Helgeson cracked a single to left and Carpentier was thrown out at the plate to end the inning.

Right handed pitcher John Barten picked up the Webster win going 7 innings and allowing 8 hits.  He struck out 6 and walked a batter.  Adam Neuger threw the final two innings of no hit ball for a save.  He walked two and struck out two batters.

Sox third baseman Gage Bergmann had two hits, right fielder Brent Cheney and catcher Brandon Sather had RBI hits.  Webster also had two stolen bases in the game.

Faribault is 8-5 and has a busy week scheduled.  The Lakers are at Chanhassen Tuesday, host Shakopee Thursday, entertain Webster Friday and host Lonsdale Sunday.
