The Faribault Lakers earned a  trip to the  Region 3C Tournament with an 11-1 seven inning win over Webster at Bell Field tonight.  An excellent crowd saw Egan Bonde scatter 6 hits over the 7 innings with 4 strikeouts and no walks.  Bonde had a very efficient game with 68 pitches, 55 for strikes.  Webster scored their only run in the first inning.  Faribault scored 3 runs in the third inning, 2 in the 6th and erupted for 6 runs in the final frame.

The Lakers collected 12 hits and the Sox had 6 in the game.  Webster used three pitchers.  The last two runs for Faribault were bases loaded walks so this was literally a walk-off win.  Four Lakers had multiple hit games.  Mitch Johnson a pair of hits and an RBI, Joe Grote 2 hits and an RBI, Matt Lane 2 hits and 2 RBI and Dylan Valentyn a couple hits and an RBI.

Faribault tallied 5 extra base hits in the DRS League playoff victory.  Lane had two of them.  Grote, Valentyn and Ryan Archambault also had doubles.  Adam Kline had a hit and RBI, Blake Langerud a hit and RBI, Austin Rendler a hit and RBI.

Faribault will hit the road Sunday for their first round in Region 3C and will probably be at Union Hill at 2:00 p.m.  But all that is yet to be determined.  We will be broadcasting on KDHL Radio, 920 AM and remember you can download the KDHL app and listen anywhere in the world.

The Faribault American Legion Post 43 baseball team also saw their season end today in the Sub-State 2 Tournament in Mankato.  Sleepy Eye defeated Faribault 12-5 at Woverton Field on the Mankato East High School campus.  Head Coach Kyle Murphy told me it was not a great day for Post 43.  They had 7 errors in the game.  Finish their season 7-15.
