The Faribault Lakers defeated the New Market Muskies 6-2 at Bell Field Sunday to continue their quest for the top seed in Region 3C.

New Market will be the number four seed from Region 3C and plays in the Class C State Amateur Baseball Tournament August 20 at noon in Hamburg against the runner-up out of Section 9.

The Lakers will play at New Prague Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. because they lost to Union Hill 6-3 in a winner's bracket game Sunday in St. Patrick, but New Prague was the home team.

The team with the fewest home games in the Region gets a home game in this round.

Bonde scattered 7 hits  while walking one and striking out three Muskies hitters.  He threw 115 pitches, 78 for strikes.

The Lakers Blake Langerud led their 8 hit attack with a pair of hits.

The winner of the game Wednesday will capture one of the top two seeds from Region 3C.

Wednesday's victor goes to Union Hill Friday and would have to win then and Sunday to become the top seed.
