The Faribault Lakers amateur baseball team can clinch another trip to the state tournament with a win Tuesday night at home. The Lakers play Union Hill at 7:30PM at Bell Field after both teams won first-round games in Region 3C action Sunday.

The Lakers rolled by Veseli 9-0 when Matt Lane tossed six innings of two-hit ball with six strikeouts and no walks, and Tyler Francis threw the last three innings, allowing one hit with a walk and two strikeouts. Union Hill had their way with St. Patrick 14-3 in Union Hill on Sunday.

Faribault gained the top seed in Region 3C with the regular season championship of the DRS League. Four of the eight teams in Region 3C will qualify for trip to the state tournament.

New Prague and New Market square off in the other winner's bracket semifinal game in Elko at 8PM. New Prague defeated Montgomery 9-7 and New Market dominated Shakopee 11-1 Sunday.

Loser's bracket games Wednesday feature Veseli playing St. Patrick in Lonsdale at 7:30PM and Montgomery entertaining Shakopee at 8PM. The loser is eliminated from the region playoffs.
