Faribault hosts one of the best cross country meets in the state this Friday at North Alexander Park.

Fans love this meet because they can see the runners on the entire course.

Thirty eight teams of runners and thousands of fans are expected to be there and the weather forecast is perfect for the runners and spectators.

Due to the congestion in the park the Faribault Falcon football game has moved kickoff against the Winona Winhawks to 7:30 p.m.

That means football game coverage on POWER 96 Radio Friday night will begin 7:15 p.m.

It's the 52nd Annual Faribault Invitational Cross Country Meet.

Races will be timed with a chip timing system.  Each runner receives a chip which is attached to his or her shoe.

The start and finish is near the Fairgrounds Grandstand.

Stillwater has won the last eight Faribault Invitational boys meets.

Edina is the two time defending girls champion at the Faribault Invitational.

Last year Anna Fenske of Farmington won the girls with a time of 18:23 and Kevin Dado of Totino-Grace was the boys winner with a time of 16:29.

Faribault Girls Cross Country Head Coach Willie Clapp has agreed to join us at halftime to give us some results from the meet.

Below are the most recent state rankings by cross country coaches.
