Faribault Fire Chief Dusty Dienst stops by the KDHL studio today to give us some fire safety tips.

The tragic house fire last week that displaced a family of five brought to light a couple of safety issues the chief wanted to discuss. There are other issues we will touch on also.

Yesterday a bill cleared committees in both the Minnesota House and Senate that would make Minnesota the first state in the nation to require carbon monoxide detectors on some boats. The carbon monoxide detectors would be required on all vessels 16 feet and longer with enclosed cabins.

The Faribault Fire Hall is undergoing major renovations currently and we will find out if the completion of that project is on schedule.

You can certainly text me your questions and we will ask Dienst if there is something you want to know. The number is (507) 838-5233.

AM Minnesota is at 9:30AM, and if you can't listen then you can always go to our YouTube channel and watch the program.
