The Faribault Emeralds Dance Team is going to the state tournament next weekend.

The Emeralds won the High Kick and Jazz competitions at the section tournament in Kasson on Saturday.

Faribault Activities Director Danny Duchene expressed his admiration for the team during the first Reliance Bank Intermission Report of the Power 96 Radio broadcast of the Falcon girls hockey section semifinal game Saturday night.

Duchene noted the energy the Emeralds displayed is just a sight to see and wished them the best of luck at state. He added the team will have their usual sendoff next week from the high school and make a tour of the elementary schools as part of their sendoff to state.

Duchene said, "Both routines were phenomenal and executed flawlessly."

Duchene said he spoke with head coach Lois Krinke briefly after the meet and said, "she was proud of her team's performances."

The sendoff will be Thursday. Jazz competition is Friday and High Kick on Saturday at the Target Center in downtown Minneapolis.
