The Faribault, Northfield and Owatonna tourism directors received an award at the Explore Minnesota Tourism Conference recently. Faribault marketing director and Main Street program supervisor Nort Johnson will give us details on today's KDHL AM Minnesota program at 9:30AM.

The three communities have pooled their resources to make the Northfield, Faribault, Owatonna region a destination with their Minne-Roadtrip campaign. The trio of communities were honored with a Marketing Award of Excellence for their efforts.

They've combined on a website www.minneroadtrip.com, which touches on the many things to do and places to see in each of the communities.

Red Wing officials are asking for assistance from fellow Minnesotans as they compete for a chance to win a $500,000 downtown makeover. The southeastern Minnesota community is one of five finalists in the nation for the "Small Business Revolution's Main Street" contest.

Deluxe Corporation created the contest last year; 14,000 cities were nominated this year. We will find out if Faribault was one of them. Voting is open until 8PM Thursday.

If you can't tune in this morning, go to www.youtube.com/user/KDHLRadio later and watch the program.
