The Faribault Falcons boys hockey team defeated the Waseca Bluejays 4-3 at the Faribault Ice Arena Tuesday.  The Bluejays had more shots on goal (26-20) but it's the pucks that go in that count most.  Neither team could generate any scoring on the power play.

Faribault was 0 for 5 and Waseca 0 for 7 on the power play.  The Falcons started the scoring when Zach Slinger scored at the 10:08 mark of the first period.  It was an unassisted even strength goal.  Waseca would tie the game on a score with 1:59 to go in the period.  The Falcons did outshoot the Bluejays in that period 9 to 8.

2:29 into the second period Waseca pulled ahead.  Faribault would answer at 6:05 on another Slinger goal.  This one was assisted by Kory Johnson.

1:06 into the third period Brody Pavel had a even strength goal to give Faribault their second lead of the game at 3-2.  Kory Johnson would add an insurance goal with 49 seconds to go in the game assisted by Noah Murphy.

The Bluejays scored their third goal with 3 seconds to go in the game.  Jake Dolter was in net for the Falcons and stopped 23 shots for the victory.  Faribault hosts Rochester John Marshall on the radio Thursday.
