The Faribault Falcon boys hockey team went to Prairie Island Arena in Red Wing Thursday night and came home with a 5-2 win.

A blue collar approach has paid dividends for Faribault with five different Falcons finding the net.

Senior goalie Adam Vos had 23 saves to earn the win.

Each team had five penalties in the game.

Faribault was 0 for 5 and Red Wing 1 for 4 on the power play.

The Falcons took a 2-0 lead in the first period while being outshot 8-5.

Leighton Weasler notched his fourth goal on Daniel Drevlow's third assist and Jon Becker-Anding's third assist.

Zach Siegert got his 9th goal unassisted.

Faribault scored two more goals in the second period on five shots.

Noah Murphy scored his second goal on Weasler's second assist and Dylan O'Neil's third assist.

Grady Goodwin got his second goal on Braden Schroeder's second assist.

Faribault defenseman Daniel Drevlow added his second goal of the year with assists by Noah Murphy (4) and Lucan Linneman (3).

Red Wing totaled 25 shots and Faribault 17 shots on goal.

Faribault is in a holiday tournament in River Falls, Wisconsin next Friday and Saturday.

After starting the season 1-5 Faribault is 3-0-1 in their last four games.

Red Wing lost their seventh in a row.

The Falcons now have more points in the Big Nine than six other teams.
