The Faribault Falcon boys hockey team received the #8 seed in the Section 1 Class A Tournament and will host the LaCrescent Lancers Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.  The Falcons lost to the Lancers 4-1 in a game I broadcast on February 1st.

Faribault is 8-14-2 and LaCrescent 7-16.  The Falcons ended the regular season with five consecutive losses.  Faribault junior defenseman Daniel Drevlow stopped by Faribault Interiors Saturday and said the team is hopeful they can get back to the form that had them start the season 4-5-1 heading into the holidays.

Drevlow told us it's been "fun playing with" the current mix of seniors and young players on the team.

Albert Lea (18-5-2) received the top seed and plays the winner of the Falcon Tuesday game Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. in Albert Lea.

The other game played to get into the quarterfinals features #7 seed Austin (7-17-1) hosting #10 Winona (2-22) with the winner heading to #2 Mankato East (13-10-2).

Minnesota River (16-8-1) is the #3 seed and hosts #6 Waseca (14-11) 7:00 p.m. Thursday night.

#5 seed Rochester Lourdes (6-18) is at #4 Mankato West (8-16-1) at 5:15 p.m. Thursday.

The semi-finals Saturday are at 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.  If Faribault gets that far they would play in the early game at the Rochester Rec Center.

The Section 1A title game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 28 at the Rec Center.
