The president of the Faribault Chamber, Kymn Anderson, stops by to educate us about the benefits of being a member of the organization.

Anderson sees the organization as a vital business tool, particularly for small businesses. She says they have access to seminars, training, counseling and research that in the past only larger businesses enjoyed.

Networking with other business owners is another key asset of being a member of the Chamber. There is strength in numbers and Chamber members work together to affect decisions made at the city, county, school district and state level that affect businesses.

Membership dues are tax deductible as a business expense. An application is available on the Chamber website at faribaultmn.org.

The Taste of Faribault Chamber fundraiser is just around the corner on Sept. 17. We'll get more details about that event from Barb Larson on Sept. 11. A Chamber S.C.O.R.E event will also be highlighted on AM Minnesota on Sept. 21.
