For many years the Faribault Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee has sponsored a Thanksgiving Luncheon the Thursday before Thanksgiving. In fact it has been held for the 23 years I have been at KDHL and was held many years before that. I have gotten many calls from people that have attended the luncheon in the past wondering about the luncheon because they have not heard anything about it on the air.

Well, the Faribault Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee decided to do something different this year. The Thanksgiving luncheon has been moved to a breakfast event next March during National Agriculture week. The event will have an emphasis on women in Agriculture. One of the major factors in the decision to move the event was attendance.

Many years farmers were trying to finish harvest or tillage and were unable to be at the luncheon the week before Thanksgiving. I was not opposed to trying something new. We will see how it goes. There is always the option of moving the event back to November.
