This Saturday is the annual Fall Festival and chili cook-off in downtown Faribault. Yes, the days are shorter and cooler and the leaves are changing, but it's still a great time to come to downtown Faribault on Saturday, Oct. 3.

There will be a kids costume and bike parade, spooky basement tour of the Paradise Center for the Arts, and of course, lots of chili to sample, and you get to vote for your favorite.

And for the adults, F-Town Brewing is hosting the Oktoberfest, beer festivities.

So come on down to downtown Faribault on Saturday. Do some shopping, eat some chili and have lots of fun. Here are some notes about the chili contest.

The Chili Contest starts at noon and serving goes until 2PM. There is no fee to participate. Contestants must make at least 3 gallons of chili, using no filler like rice or pasta. Beans may be picked up at Flair Furniture. Please bring your own table, chairs, extension cords and canopy.
