The Faribault Falcons enjoyed a 54-18 win over the Albert Lea Tigers in Nomeland Gym on Monday night. It was 36-8 at the half.

Albert Lea finished the game with six total field goals and no three pointers. Faribault had six threes, four in the first half.

The Falcons scored 24 points off turnovers and the only sore point on the stat sheet were the missed free throws. Faribault shot 8 of 23 from the free throw line.

Head coach Bill Bardal was pleased with the performance but said when his team tangles with New Ulm on Tuesday they will need to be laser focused at the free throw line.

Elana Palmer was the only Falcon in double figures with 14 points. Madison Rendler had eight points, Rachel Hanson and Grace Amacher tallied seven points each, and Lauren Isaacson and Breanna Bresnahan collected five points each.

Everybody played in the game and there was running time in the second half.

Albert Lea was 6 of 10 from the free throw line and turned the ball over 23 times.

New Ulm is sitting  in the No. 2 position in the section Faribault is in, so Tuesday's game is huge in terms of section seeds. The Eagles have only a couple of losses on the season.

By the way, Faribault remains unbeaten when they score more than 50 points in a game this season.
