The Faribault Falcon girls basketball team shared the ball well in a 73-44 win over the Mankato East Cougars in Nomeland Gym Thursday night.

I enjoy watching teams that share the ball and the unselfishness resulted in some very nice passes for assists in the Big Nine Conference victory.

The Falcons led 38-20 at the half thanks to senior Lauren Isaacson's 13 points and junior Abby Van Ryn's 10.  The two finished the night with 40 of the team's points.  Van Ryn had 23 and Isaacson 17.

They were named our Faribault State Farm Insurance agents Faribault players of the game along with 6'0 sophomore post Zoe Fronk.  Senior Megan Gehrke was home with the flu so Fronk got more playing time and made her presence felt.

Fronk has a nice touch around the basket and had 12 points for the Falcons.   Senior Grace Amacher also finished with 12 points.

6'1 eighth grader Lexi Karge led the Cougars with 16 points and was the only Mankato East player in double figures.

With the win Faribault is 10-8 in the Big Nine and 11-10 overall.  The Cougars are now 4-13 in the league and 4-16 overall.

Mankato East travels to Winona Saturday and Faribault's next game is at Red Wing on Tuesday night.
