John Dvorak Executive Director of the Rice County Fair was on AM Minnesota today along with Amber Brossard. Amber is the education director at the River Bend Nature Center in Faribault. She is a volunteer for the Rice County Fair and is in charge of the DNR building at the Rice County Fair. Amber said the fish aquariums in the DNR building have been refurbished and there will be a number of booths and exhibits set up.

John said that the DNR building is very unique as it is made out of logs and limbs. In addition the families that donated money decades ago to build it have their names listed in one of the corners. For those who enjoy the carnival rides, very soon the "Passport To Fun" ride tickets will be available. When you buy one for $45 they take your picture and put it on your pass. For the entire fair you can go on all the rides or ride until you drop! The "Passport To Fun" ride tickets are available only until 5PM July 18, 2016. You can purchase them at Hy-Vee in Faribault, Fred's I-G-A in Lonsdale or at the Rice County Fair office on the Fairgrounds in Faribault.
