Do you need a break from the hustle and bustle of work and life but you don't have much time? Do you enjoy this time of year with it's beautiful sunny days, colorful fall leaves and that crisp clean smell to the air? I've got the thing for you.

If you've read any of my past blogs, you know that I am fascinated with trains. Their size, power and the variety of types has always intrigued me. One of my cherished presents is a train set that I received when I was about ten or so. I still have that train set and it even works.

That aside, several years ago while spending some time in the Osceola area my wife and I happened upon a train tour. Unfortunately they had stopped running for the season when we discovered it. Recently I received a notification about this very same train excursion announcing that the Osceola & St. Croix Dinner Train was hosting the 2017 Fall Colors Train. If you've ever traveled through the St. Croix Valley area, you know it's beautiful, especially in the fall and this relaxing ride is just the thing to do on a warm autumn day.

You've only got a small window to take advantage of this getaway as the tours only run between September 30 and October 15, just across the border in in Osceola, Wisconsin, and you'll want to reserve tickets soon.

There ya go, it's only about an hour and a half away, so it's the quick relaxing day trip get away you need.
