Waseca Drama Department is proud to present The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Dave Barton and Matt Bond. Performances are April 16, 17 and 19, 2015. Thursday’s and Friday’s performances are at 7 p.m. while Sunday’s matinee is at 2 p.m. All performances are at the Central Building Auditorium. Tickets are $6 for general admission, and may be purchased in advance at the Waseca Music Co. beginning April 1.

A retelling of the classic tale by Samuel Clemons, known better as Mark Twain, this charming piece brings to life all of your favorite adventures. Tom Sawyer is a young boy growing up with his Aunt Polly, brother Sid and Cousin Mary in the late 1840s in St. Petersburg, Mo. Some of the vignettes featured in the play include painting the fence, curing warts, the Bible verse contest, the murder of Doc Robinson, the funeral of Tom and Huck, the trial and the death of Injun Joe.

Enjoy a family friendly evening of theater featuring Levi DeLong as Tom Sawyer, Bryce Barrie as Huck Finn, Machaela Spear as Aunt Polly and Katie Donelan as Becky Thatcher. They are joined by a talented ensemble, including Patrick Leigh, Kaitlyn Kubat, Tiana Moore, Jacob Howson, Maddie Helms, Simon Hoehn, Michael Duncan, Gideon Baumgarn, Jon Howson, Megan Lentz, Sarah Austin, Makayla Matz, Garrett Natysin, Jared Rudolph, Aleah Lewandowsky, Kady Tenney, Alexis Ayers, Katie Klyve, Isaac Carter, Caleb Sipe, Jack Zimmerman, and Noah Odenbrett. Tom Sawyer is directed by Dawn Skinner and Hollie Wehr.
