Additional Information

The year 2018 marks the centennial of the founding of Czechoslovakia in 1918 following the end of World War I. Czechoslovakia was founded in the aftermath of World War I as one of the successor states of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

To commemorate this event, there will be an Open House at the Bohemian Brick Hall on Sunday, May 20, from 1 to 4 p.m. The Hall is located on County Road 30 three miles north of Myrtle, MN. Address is 17509 650th Avenue.

The St. Paul (MN) Czech and Slovak Folk Dancers will perform from 1:30 to 2:30. The Folk Dancers are an ethnic dance group promoting the Czech, Moravia and Slovak heritage and culture. Their costumes, or kroje, represent the dress of a number of different villages throughout both the Czech and Slovak Republics. They are not to be missed!

Following the dancers, there will be a brief presentation about the history of the Brick Hall. This is a unique opportunity to see and tour the inside of this Historic Hall.

Kolache, coffee, and water will be available. Freewill offering. For more information, please visit the Hall’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pg/ZareZapadu/posts.
