If you’re visiting downtown Owatonna this evening you’re in for a treat as the streets will be glowing brightly during the Lighted Holiday Parade. The parade will go from the corner of Front Street and North Cedar Avenue to Central Park then around Central Park onto West Park Square. Afterward they’ll be flipping the switch on lights in Central Park. Cookies and cider will be served while you enjoy holiday music performed by the Owatonna High School Carolers. Tonight’s event is the beginning of Owatonna’s Hometown Holiday Weekend jam packed with special events, music and family activities.

On Friday and Saturday you can step back in time in the Village of Yesteryear to take part in a Victorian Christmas! During Christmas in the Village you can take a walk through the Village lit up with luminaries while you enjoy carolers, take a horse-drawn wagon ride, participate in a scavenger hunt, purchase homemade cookies at the fancy cookie sale, check out the crafts for children along with demonstrations throughout the village and and visit with Mrs. Claus. Also make sure you stop by the Dunnell House, there’s free admission  and it’s beautifully decorated for the holidays. Friday's hours are 4:30-8PM and Saturday's are 10AM to 2PM.
