Elysian Kids’ Fishing Contest Hosts AM Minnesota 7-3-2015

The Elysian July Fourth Celebration runs Thursday through Sunday, and we are at Lake Francis Park on Friday, the site of the kids' fishing contest.

There's fun for the whole family over the weekend. Friday there's a medallion hunt, kids' bingo and a cribbage tournament. The American Legion Chicken Feed is 5-7PM and the annual Elysian Firefighters Dance features "Smokescreen" from 8:30PM to 12:30AM.

Saturday the Lake Francis Boat Parade begins at 10AM, the 30th annual turtle races are at 12:30PM. The Kiddie Parade is at 1:30PM, followed by the Grand Parade at 2PM. This year's parade features military units and will be followed by arm wrestling, and you can dance to "Chad Pfeiffer Music."

Sunday the Elysian Fire Hall is the place to be from 7:30AM to noon for a pancake breakfast. The 21st annual Elysian Car, Motorcycle and Tractor Show along Main Street is from 8:30AM to 1:30PM. The Flea Market runs from 8AM to 4PM and the Kids' Petting Zoo is 11AM to 1PM, followed by a state-sanctioned Kid Power Pedal Pull.
