Elysian

It was fun this morning to head over to Elysian for today's AM Minnesota program. As soon as I drove into town it felt like everyone was busy getting ready for the celebration. Typically they have more than 20,000 people in town for the Fourth of July celebration. I always refer to Elysian as the city of flags. Lynn Hebl, the American Legion commander, said it was about 2004 when they put up all the flags along Highway 60.

Jeanne Zwart and Pat Nusbanm with the Elysian Chamber of Commerce have been involved in helping with the Fourth of July celebration for many years, along with a lot of other volunteers It was nice that the Miss Elysian royalty stopped by too. Seated on the left is Miss Elysian Anne Doran. On the right is Mckenzie Kuball, 1st attendant, and Kate Best, 2nd attendant, in the center. Elysian American Legion Commander Lynn Hebl and Jeanne Zwart are standing. There are activities scheduled from Friday through Monday the Fourth. Be sure to check out the schedule on the City of Elysian website.
