The Edina Hornets snapped the Wayzata Trojans' dominance in girls swimming and diving by winning the State Class AA Meet on Friday at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center.

Edina finished with 353 points and Wayzata finished second with 279. Wayzata was going for their fourth straight title.

Rosemount with 106 points was sixth and Lakeville South was seventh with 104.5. Lakeville North finished 18th. Rochester Mayo had the highest finish among Big Nine schools at 22nd with 23 points.

The Lakeville South Cougar 200-yard medley relay team finished ninth and consisted of senior Maria Herrera, junior Ryenne Hathaway, sophomore Josephine Sommers and freshman Winter Craig.

The Lakeville North Panther team of sophomores Ashley Van Dyne and Caroline Anderson and senior Jaelin Rose and junior Emily Kaiser was also Honorable Mention All-State with a 14th place finish.

Junior Elizabeth Thull of Lakeville North placed eighth in the 200-yard freestyle for All-State Honors.

Cougar Hathaway was second in the 50-yard freestyle and teammate Sommers finished 13th. Freshman Winter Craig finished eighth in the 100-yard butterfly to earn All-State status. Thull of Lakeville North was 13th for Honorable Mention All-State.

The Lakeville South 200-yard freestyle relay placed fourth and was composed of Hathaway, Sommers, Craig and sophomore Peyton Wright.

Lakeville North's 200-yard freestyle relay was 15th, with Thull anchoring and other members including sophomores Megan Pattee and Katie Domack, and eighth-grader Katie Pattee.

Lakeville North sophomore Ashley Van Dyne was 16th in the 100-yard backstroke to earn Honorable Mention All-State and teammate Jaelin Rose finished 10th in the 100-yard breaststroke.

The Lakeville South Cougar 400-yard freestyle relay earned All-State by finishing eighth and had Hathaway, Sommers, Craig and senior Rachel Streit.

The Lakeville North Panther 400-yard freestyle relay was Honorable Mention All-State after finishing 16th and was anchored by Thull. The rest of the team included sophomores Megan Pattee, Caroline Anderson and Ashley Van Dyne.

In diving, Lakeville South junior Brittany Alexander placed 14th for Honorable Mention All-State. Freshman Megan Phillip of Edina is the Class 2A diving champion with 480.85 points. Rochester Mayo junior Isabella Lichen was eighth, earning All-State honors.
