District One Hospital in Faribault will close for 24 hours beginning at 9AM Saturday, April 30. The hospital expects to reopen at 9AM Sunday, May 1.

The hospital's closure is due to a planned power outage as part of the project to build a new emergency department, according to a press release. No hospital services will be available during the outage.

During District One's closure, the Allina Health Faribault Clinic, next to the hospital at 100 State Ave., will expand its clinic hours and will provide walk-in clinic services for conditions such as

  • upper respiratory infections
  • fever, flu, sore throats
  • earaches
  • urinary tract infections
  • headaches
  • abdominal and other pains
  • sprains, broken bones and cuts.

The Allina Health Faribault Clinic does not provide emergency services; if you experience a medical emergency, please call 911. Alternative emergency care hospitals include Owatonna Hospital, Northfield Hospital, Mayo Clinic New Prague, Fairview Ridges Hospital, Abbott Northwestern Hospital and Mayo Clinic Rochester.
