The Virtues Project is a training opportunity coming to Faribault in early August, and local promoters of the event will be on the KDHL AM Minnesota program today. George Wickstrom Jr. and Cindy Diessner will be stopping by the studio for a visit and informing us about the specifics.

The Virtues Project is a global grassroots initiative to inspire the practice of virtues in everyday life. Organizers want to spark a global revolution of kindness, justice and integrity in more than 100 countries. It was founded in Canada in 1991 by Linda Kavelin-Popov, Dr. Dan Kavelin and John Kavelin.

The Virtues Project was honored by the United Nations during the International Year of the Family as a "model global program for families of all cultures."

Linda Kavelin-Popov was on the Oprah Winfrey show and said of The Family Virtues Guide, "How to instill 'do the right thing' virtues in your children. Parents are always saying children don't come with a guidebook. This is one! This helps you get them on the right track of leading a good life."

There will be two two-day workshops in Faribault and classes are limited to 150 people each. Those workshops are Tuesday and Wednesday, August 2 and 3, or Thursday and Friday, August 4 and 5, at The Inn on the Shattuck-St. Mary's campus. Registration check-in is at 8:30AM and the workshops run from 9AM to 4PM each day.

The Virtues Project master facilitators Terry Rahn and Valerie Hess from Wisconsin will be conducting the workshops. The training is normally $350 but is being offered in Faribault for $100 per person.

We will learn more about The Virtues Project together on AM Minnesota at 9:30AM.
