For more than 35 years, the little town of Dennison has been celebrating Dennison Days. And that celebration kicks off Friday night with a garden tractor pull and music from local artist Chad Johnson.

Saturday morning kicks off with a new event, at 7AM, the first annual barbecue cookoff. Judging happens in the afternoon. At 8AM there is a dads waffle breakfast that goes until 11AM. Other events include a truck and tractor pull, food stands, wagon rides, softball games, kiddie carnival, bingo, parade at 6PM, keg toss, live music by Sell out Stereo and more.

The grand marshal for this year's festivities is longtime Dennison resident Bernice Stenhaug, who moved to the area in 1961.

You can check out a complete listing of this year's events by going to dennisondays.org.

For those who don't know, Dennison is in Rice and Goodhue counties to the northeast of Faribault. Its official population is only a little over 200, but when everybody comes in for this celebration, you would think it is much bigger.
