Dakota Rice Corn and Soybean Growers Banquet

The Dakota Rice Corn and Soybean Growers annual meeting and banquet will be held this evening at Jesse James Lanes Highway 3 South in Northfield. The social hour begins at 6PM, dinner at 6:30PM with the meeting to follow. The guest speaker will be Al Withers, program director for Minnesota's Ag In the Classroom. This is always a fun banquet (even if they do pick on me) with great food and fellowship.

The banquet is free to all corn and soybean growers in Dakota and Rice County plus business and supporters of the corn and soybean growers. It will also be an opportunity to say thank you to Al Withers. Withers has been the program director of the Ag In the Classroom since it was created by the Minnesota Legislature. Earlier this year he announced he was going to be retiring. In his tenure, a lot of materials have been developed for teachers to incorporate into their lesson plans, even if they have no background or experience in agriculture.
