Dakota County Farm Bureau Turns 100

Monday evening September 25, 2017 the Dakota Farm Bureau will be holding their 100th Anniversary meeting at the Rosemount American Legion. The Anniversary celebration will begin at 7:00 pm. Yes, the Dakota County Farm Bureau has been supporting agriculture in Dakota County for 100 years. The keynote speaker will be Kevin Paap, the president of the Minnesota Farm Bureau. In addition a number of farm families in Dakota County will receive recognition.

The Minnesota Farm Bureau for many decades has recognized Century Farms for farms that have been in continuous family ownership for 100 years. Sesquicentennial farms are those that have been in continuous family ownership for 150 years. The Dudley Farm of Northfield and Maria Therres of Meadowbrook Farm of Vermillion will be recognized as Dakota County Sesquicentennial Farms! In addition the Stoffel Family from Hastings will be honored for receiving the Dakota County Farm Family of the year for 2017.
