Colleen Carlson Extension Educator in Scott County will be sponsoring a Cover Crop Fall Tour on Tuesday November 20, 2018. Many farmers are growing cover crops and here is your opportunity to see different cover crops and establishment practices. The tour will have stops at three farms from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Tuesday.

At 1:00 the tour will be at 780 County Trail East Jordan. Three fields have been seeded, winter kill cover crop mix aerial seeded into standing corn and soybeans and ceral rye drilled after corn silage.

At 1:45 the tour will be at 20075 Xandau Avenue, Jordan. In this field a winter kill seed mix interseeded into standing corn.

The final stop will be at 2:25 pm at West Evergreen Street, Belle Plaine. Here a winterkill seed mix was interseeded into standing corn.

Everyone is welcome to attend all or any part of the tour and there is no charge. The Scott Soil and Water Conservation District, Scott Watershed Management Organization, and the Prior Lake-Spring Lake Watershed District are also partnering to put on the tour. Representatives will be there to answer any questions you may have about cover crops.
