All Minnesota County Farm Service Agency offices are open and will be open through Friday. There was enough money left in the USDA budget to fund offices through Friday. After Friday offices will remain closed until there is a budget resolution and funding for the USDA is restored.

Le Sueur County FSA director Gary Kunz said there was a conference call last Friday informing County Offices of the budget status. In addition he said it sounded like almost all the second Market Facilitation payments had been triggered by County Offices. County staff had until the end of business today to get the market Facilitation payments started at the local level.

Then it goes to the Federal level for the payment to get transferred to your checking account. The County FSA offices worked hard to try and get the payments to farmers in 2018. So, continue to watch your checking account to verify if and when the program payments were deposited in your account.

If you wanted to put your corn and beans under the CCC loan program they can start that process but it is not possible to get it all done by Friday. Whenever the shutdown ends they will pick it up where they left off. if you have questions call your FSA office before the end of business Friday!
