Many artists have a string of megahits, and some artists have one or two.

Let's start with Rhett Akins, aka Thomas Rhett Akins Sr.

In 1994, Akins hit No. 35 on the charts with "What They're Talkin' About." His first big hit from the CD A Thousand Memories was "That Ain't My Truck," and that was a No. 3 in 1995. The only No. 1 hit for Akins was in 1996 for one week and was the hit "Don't Get Me Started" from the CD Somebody New.

Akins did release other songs, but they fell short of making the Top 40. Also a note, he was the voice of Tom Sawyer alongside Mark Wills, who voiced Huckleberry Finn, in the direct-to-video film Tom Sawyer.

That is not to say some of his other songs have not made it to the charts though, because Akins went on to be a songwriter in the late 2000s.

He has co-written songs with another artist known as the Peach Pickers. Some of the songs are "Put A Girl In It" by Brooks & Dunn, "Gimme That Girl" and "The Shape I'm In" by Joe Nichols, "Honey Bee," "Boys 'Round Here" and "All About Tonight" by Blake Shelton, and "It Goes Like This" and "Get Me Some of That" by his son, Thomas Rhett.
