Cannon Falls native Caitlyn Smith will join Shepherd Center of the Cannon Valley Executive Director Rod Johnson on AM Minnesota on Wednesday.

Smith will be performing a benefit concert on May 16 at the Cannon Falls High School Auditorium. Proceeds benefit the Shepherd Center, which is an organization providing a lot of community services in the Cannon Falls area.

Smith lives in Nashville and is more known for her songwriting at this point -- such songs as "Tacoma" performed by Garth Brooks, "You Can't Make Old Friends" with Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, and "Wasting All Those Tears" performed by Cassadee Pope. Lady Antebellum, Jason Aldean and Rascal Flatts also have used Smith works on their albums.

Once you hear her incredible voice, you will probably be like me and wonder how come this young lady hasn't become a star artist. We can certainly help a Minnesota girl get better at her craft by attending the concert and of course purchasing her music.

Johnson will have details about how we can get tickets, and they are selling fast. I'm looking forward to our visit with Cannon Falls native and Nashville recording artist and songwriter Caitlyn Smith. Tune in 9:30AM and get all the details.
