Wednesday evening the Farm Business Management Program at the South Central College in Faribault hosted the annual Corn-Soybean Variety Plot meeting. The corn and soybean plots are coordinated by the instructors at the South Central College Farm Business Management Program. The seed is sponsored by the different companies. The trials are replicated numerous times to improve the reliability. There were a lot of farmers at the meeting which indicates they think the data generated was useful.

It would be difficult to have a variety plot without land to plant them on. So, special thanks go to the cooperating farmers including Brian Bauer, Hanson Farms, Ben Johnson, Ron Keller, Mike Peterson, Chuck Hachfeld and the Minnesota Agricultural Interpretive Center Farmamerica. I have had small test plots in the past. It takes a lot of time to plant and harvest all those replicated test plots. In addition many of those cooperating farmers have hosted the plots for many years. If you would like a copy of the results contact the Farm Business Management office at the South Central College in Faribault.
